Summary

The Australian Committee on Technical and Further Education was established on 26 April 1973. The Committee was responsible for carrying out the following functions, as outlined by the Minister for Education, the Hon. Kim E. Beazley on the 26 April 1973: "furnish information and advice to the Minister for Education on matters relating to the Development of technical and further education in Australia including financial assistance to the States in relation to institutions in the States." The Committee was abolished on 27 May 1975, under the Technical and Further Education Commission Act 1975, and was replaced by the Technical and Further Education Commission.
