Summary

The Department of Employment, Education and Training (Area Office, Australian Capital Territory/Southern New South Wales) was established on 1 March 1990, as a result of changes brought on by the Corporate Services Review (CSR), replacing the Department of Employment, Education and Training, State Office [I] (NSW) (1987-1990) and the Department of Employment, Education and Training (ACT Regional Office) (1987-1990). The Office was responsible for functions relations to the following broad areas: education, employment and training. The Office was abolished on 1 July 1994 due to further restructuring brought on by the Corporate Services Review, and the Department of Employment, Education and Training (Area Office, Illawarra and ACT) was established.
