Summary

The Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA) was established in 1984 under the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia Act 1983, replacing the Public Examinations Board of South Australia (1968-1983). The Board was responsible for carrying out the following functions: "preparation and approval of syllabuses and the assessment of students studying approved syllabuses." The Board was renamed in 2008 to South Australian Certificate of Education Board of South Australia under the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (Review) Amendment Act 2008.
