Summary
The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Workplace Relations was established on 24 September 1987 under a Resolution of the House of Representatives. The Committee was responsible for carrying out the following functions (as at February 1989): [inquire into] industry training and award restructuring; new technology in education; and student participation in post-compulsory education and training. The Committee was abolished on 8 October 2001, and its functions were distributed between the newly created House of Representatives Standing Committee on Education and Training and the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Employment and Workplace Relations.
