Summary
The Victorian Qualifications Authority was established on 5 December 2000 under the Victorian Qualifications Authority Act 2000. The Authority was responsible for carrying out functions relating to the following broad areas: assessment, certification, issuance and accreditation of qualifications. The Victorian Qualifications Authority was merged with the Registered Schools Board (1982-2006), and some functions of the Office of Training and Tertiary Education, on 16 May 2006 under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.
