Summary
The Queensland Studies Authority (Queensland) was established on 1 July 2002 under the Education (Queensland Studies Authority) Act 2002, replacing the Board of Senior Secondary School Studies [II] (1989-2002). The Authority is responsible for carrying out the following functions (current as of December 2014): "development, review and approval of pre-school guidelines and syllabuses for years 1-12, as well as the development of professional resources for teachers to support the implementation of relevant guidelines and syllabuses. It is also responsible for the appropriateness of testing, assessment and moderation, the certification of Queensland students and the facilitation of tertiary entrance procedures."
