Summary

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority was established on 1 March 2001 under the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority Act 2000, replacing the Victorian Board of Studies (1993-2001). The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority is responsible for carrying out many functions relating to education in Victoria, including: develop standards and policies for education, administer the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) assessments, and develop and maintain the Curriculum Standards Framework.
