Summary

The Curriculum Council (Western Australia) was established in 1997 under the Curriculum Council Act 1997, replacing the The Secondary Education Authority (1985-1997). The primary functions of the Curriculum Council included the following: "curriculum development and accreditation and certification of student achievement." In 2012 the Curriculum Council was abolished and the School Curriculum and Standards Authority was established.
