Summary
The Department of Education and Children's Services [II] (South Australia) was established in 2002, as a result of the renaming of the Department of Education, Training and Employment (1997-2002). The Department was responsible for carrying out functions relating to the following broad areas: early childhood development, primary and secondary school education. The Department was renamed on 21 November 2011 following restructuring, and was afterwards known as The Department for Education and Child Development (DECD).
