Summary

The Education Department (Western Australia) was established on 1 January 1994, as the result of the renaming of the Ministry of Education (1988-1994). The Department was responsible for carrying out functions relating to the following broad areas: education and training. The Education Department was abolished on 3 February 2003, and was merged with the Department of Training to form the Department of Education and Training.
